Xiuniang Silk Founded in 1896
The century-old legend of Xiuniang Silk is deeply rooted in a distinguished silk embroidery family in the Jiangnan region. Its history dates back long before the brand’s establishment in 1896. The family’s ancestors once crafted dragon robes and phoenix garments for the royal court, and its heritage can be traced to the Gu Embroidery tradition of the late Ming Dynasty. For more than a century, through five generations of dedication, under the leadership of Ms. Qi Qiulan, the inheritor, and Mr. Xu Ting, the new-generation inheritor, Xiuniang Silk has grown into a leading brand in China’s silk industry. It has stepped onto the international stage, showcasing the unique charm of silk culture.
The Three Core Values of the Brand
Based on traditional Chinese culture, we inherit the intangible cultural heritage of Suzhou embroidery and classic weaving techniques. By innovatively integrating oriental art with modern aesthetics, we create silk products that are both practical and elegant.
Intangible Cultural Heritage Handicraft Workshop
Jiangnan Weaving Mansion has re-established weaving, embroidery, leathercraft and garment workshops, integrating exquisite traditional Chinese craftsmanship and the essence of intangible cultural heritage with modern fashion aesthetics. Adopting pure handwork in place of machine production, it innovatively interprets contemporary Chinese art and lifestyle, and presents oriental aesthetics with dedicated craftsmanship.
Weaving Workshop
Adhering to ancient weaving traditions, we interweave warp and weft threads on traditional looms with meticulous handwork for every single strand. Focusing on the inheritance and innovation of craftsmanship, we produce high-quality silk fabrics such as Song Brocade and Yun Brocade, providing essential materials for subsequent products.
Embroidery Workshop
Inheriting the intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship of Suzhou embroidery, skilled artisans use needles as brushes and threads as ink to create exquisite patterns on silk with dozens of traditional stitching techniques. The motifs include figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, featuring delicate and lifelike works that integrate artistic value with practical functions.
Leather Workshop
By integrating silk with traditional leather craftsmanship, we select high-quality full-grain cowhide and combine Suzhou embroidery intangible cultural heritage skills with handmade leather techniques to design and produce handbags, wallets, card holders and other accessories, which not only retain Oriental aesthetics but also meet modern fashion needs.
